Tomorrow’s Engineers launches skills partnership for English schools

Tomorrow’s Engineers and education provider STEM Learning have launched a skills partnership designed to improve industry relations in schools across England.
The Tomorrow’s Engineers ENTHUSE Partnerships have been created to help support young people increase their engagement in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), open up a range of career possibilities and contribute to social mobility, a statement from EngineeringUK said.
The two-year project aims to involve 200 schools, across 17 areas in England, strategically linking them with industry employers.
Sarah Devonport, regional engagement manager and Tomorrow’s Engineers programme lead, said: “This programme sees us build on our experience of working with employers to help them develop fruitful relationships with local schools that see real benefits in terms of student transition into the workplace.”
As part of the project, schools and colleges in selected areas across England will be invited to apply to access:
- Bursary funded STEM-specific CPD
- The opportunity for teachers to spend up to two weeks with a STEM employer
- Employer-led activities to inspire students
- Support to establish and sustain STEM Club activities
- Support from STEM Ambassadors
- Support worth up to £12,000
