Nuclera celebrates £1 million-plus Innovate UK package

Biotech company Nuclera has been awarded two Innovate UK grants totaling £1.14 million.
The funding includes a £790,000 FASST (flexible, agile, scalable, and sustainable technologies) grant awarded in collaboration with DeepMirror. Also, a £350,000 Engineering Biology grant, to further develop the platform, with evaluations by Imperial College London independent expert Dr Konstantinos Beisand Dr Andrew Quigley of Diamond Light Source.
FASST grants are a component of Innovate UK’s Transforming Medicines Manufacturing programme to develop UK capabilities in manufacturing medicines by developing first-of-a-kind technologies to accelerate patient access to new drugs and treatments.
Nuclera is one of 48 company recipients of the Engineering Biology grant, tackling challenges in the fields of health, environment, food production and sustainability. Funding comes from the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Technology Missions Fund and delivered by Innovate UK.
