ImarisSearch is first PC-based indexing and search software for microscopy images and the latest addition to Bitplane's suite of visualisation and analytical software for virtually any 3D microscope
ImarisSearch provides automatic indexing for any standard or proprietary confocal or wide field microscopy formats for 2D and 3D still images as well as 3D movies (4D).
In addition, ImarisSearch also works with most other common files such as Microsoft Office, PDF, JPG and even Outlook email.
Image specific search parameters can be combined with regular text search terms and file format or time based parameters, without the need for any manual annotation.
The built-in preview function shows all indexed fields along with thumbnails for each image and drill-down functions including: open in native program, open folder containing document, save document, copy to clipboard or send as email attachment.
ImarisSearch requires minimal configuration and integrates easily with existing workflow systems.
The ImarisSearch image filter gets answers in seconds to questions such as 'find all images with three channels and more than 50 frames', while the interactive hit list filtering function allows users to restrict or expand hits by microscope brand or date range, for example.
For each search the hit breakdown is displayed by source path and file format.
"In all areas of science from bio-medical research to materials development, automated multi-dimensional imaging and management are now vital for any microscopy facility," said Marius Messerli, CEO Bitplane.
"Faced with increasing volumes of data to investigate and manage, ImarisSearch provides researchers with a powerful addition to the Imaris suite of visualisation and analysis software that allows them to focus on their work and increase productivity".
ImarisSearch can be used in a stand-alone mode or networked.
The cost starts from euro2900s for a five user licence when purchased separately or euro1995 when sold with Imaris in any configuration.
For over ten years, Swiss-based Bitplane has been delivering high-level, automated imaging solutions to major microscopy facilities around the world that liberate researchers from routine image management housekeeping.
Biplane's Imaris suite of imaging software adds valuable analytical and visual features to virtually any 3D or 4D microscope from a Windows PC.
Biplane customers include technical, commercial and research groups around the world.
Companies such as Roche, Novartis, Novo Nordisk, and Unilever; research facilities at Scripps, MIT, UCSD and at the universities of Amsterdam, Harvard, Oxford, Glasgow, Stockholm and Zurich, and the Max-Planck Society in Europe, rely on Bitplane products to support scientific innovation at the highest level.
