Experts in the fields of drug discovery and development and biotherapeutics will converge at the 2007 Current Trends in Microcalorimetry conference, July 18-21 at the Colonnade Hotel, Boston, USA
The conference will be held immediately preceding the annual symposium of The Protein Society, giving attendees the opportunity to attend both meetings.
An exciting and diverse line-up of speakers from both industry and academia has been assembled.
Topic areas include drug discovery and lead optimisation, protein engineering, process development, liquid biopharmaceutical formulations and novel applications of microcalorimetry.
Confirmed speakers include scientists from Amgen, BiogenIdec, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Genzyme, Wyeth, Novartis, Johnson and Johnson, Gilead, Exelixis, Johns Hopkins and many more.
There will also be a poster session in which all attendees may participate.
In addition, tutorial sessions on isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) will be held on Wednesday morning, prior to the start of the conference.
With topics including experimental design, sample preparation, data analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance, these courses are ideal for researchers new to the field or anyone who wants a refresher course.
The growing interest in microcalorimetry in the life sciences has necessitated an annual meeting on the subject.
Structural biologists, crystallographers, medicinal chemists and other researchers are discovering that microcalorimetry can provide important information unavailable from any other technique.
