Unlike standard non-coring needles which are bent at the tip, Popper's special septum penetration tip features a true deflection of the needle heel above the centerline
The tip developed by Popper and Sons (ISO 9001:2000/ISO 13485) is designed for non coring medical and laboratory application when septum penetration is required.
The tip or point-geometry of the Popper Needle minimises coring due to its deflection feature.
The location of the deflection is critical since coring typically occurs at the heel area.
To further assist in minimising or eliminating coring, needles can be Teflon coated to increase lubricity.
