GenScript, a supplier of gene, peptide, protein, and antibody services to customers worldwide, announces a new immunodetection product, the One-Step IP-Western kit
This kit eliminates all contamination from heavy chains, light chains, and proteins A and G.
In addition, it also has a shorter run time than other western blots, about one hour.
Protein A and G resins are a common part of many immunodetection procedures, but they can shed proteins A and G.
These proteins, along with heavy chains and light chains from primary and secondary antibodies, can leave blots on the membrane that may obscure relevant results.
The One-Step IP-Western Kit is the first product on the market that can sidestep this problem, rendering western analysis practical for a large number of molecules that would otherwise have to be evaluated by different means.
The One-Step IP-Western Kit maintains both high sensitivity and low background.
Quantities of IP antibody as high as 2ug remain undetected, while revealing even nanograms of antigen.
GenScript IP-western kits are available for use with rabbit, mouse, and goat primary antibodies.
A kit containing ten assays retails for US$375.
The company offers similar kits for regular western analysis.
