Like earlier One-Step kits, the Advanced One-Step Western Kit allows the user to complete a western blot analysis in a fraction of the usual time
GenScript has launched the next product in its One-Step Western series.
The Advanced Kit shows even higher sensitivity and lower background than the already very precise standard One-Step Kit.
The Advanced One-Step Western can detect even nanograms of relevant antigen while leaving quantities of antibody as high as 2ug per lane undetected.
Like other One-Step Western kits, it yields a complete western analysis in just under one hour.
The kit is available for use with mouse, rabbit, and goat antibodies.
Unlike the standard One-Step Western Kit, the Advanced One-Step Western does not currently come in versions compatible with rat or chicken antibody or with epitope tag detection.
"The plan," says GenScript manager Sally Wang, "is to phase in more tags and other features until the Advanced Kit can replace our standard One-Step Western.
"For the time being, however, we are pleased to offer our customers their choice of our Advanced and regular One-Step Western Kits".
The Advanced One-Step Western Kit, which comes complete with all the necessary reagents, buffers, nitrocellulose membranes, and other materials necessary for performing a western blot analysis, is expected to retail for US$295 for 10 assays.
Standard One-Step Western Kits cost anywhere from $195 to $350, depending on the antibodies or tags involved.
