Company continues to expand its global presence by opening a sales office in Nottingham, UK, to complement Lightwave Scientific - CLC bio's UK reseller since early 2006
The need for an expanded UK presence is due to the increasing interest in CLC bio's bioinformatics solutions from UK based companies, universities, hospitals, and research institutions.
The newly opened office is lead by Darrol Baker, who previously worked as European sales manager for Invitrogen's sequence analysis software business, selling and implementing Vector NTI, LabShare, and GenoMax solutions for large UK and continental European companies and research institutions.
Before that, Baker was a member of the group that built up and developed Informax's European sales and consulting teams in the period from 1999 until 2003.
In addition to being UK sales manager, Darrol Baker will collaborate with CLC bio's team of scientists and product specialists in servicing key pan-European and Global accounts.
Baker states: 'I have been following CLC bio for quite some time.
"Going from zero to more than 40 employees since 2005 is downright intimidating; but what has impressed me more is the fast flow of user-friendly and high quality bioinformatics solutions that are being developed and released.
"That said, after having joined the CLC team, I must say that what is behind the walls of CLC bio is even more awe-inspiring.
"This is where it happens in bioinformatics right now - and I couldn't have dreamt of a better opportunity than to be a part of CLC bio".
Other than CLC bio's headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark, the company now has sales offices in Boston, USA, Juiz de Fora, Brazil, Hyderabad, India, and Nottingham, UK.
