New instrument will be used in the company's analytical laboratory to process at least 480 individual samples of nitrogen dioxide diffusion tube monitors per day
Camspec has recently supplied Gradko International with a new M550 spectrophotometer with a double beam scanning facility.
Gradko International was formed in 1973 to manufacture small bore plastic tubing for medical and laboratory uses.
In 1990 the company, in conjunction with a major scientific establishment embarked a programme to develop an environmental monitor using diffusion tube technology.
Today the company is one of the market leaders in the preparation, supply and analysis of a wide range of these environmental monitors.
The company purchased its first Camspec spectrophotometer in 1999 (an M302 model) which has been in daily use ever since.
The purchase of an additional spectrophotometer was associated with the company's continuing development of different types of diffuser sampler.
Over recent years, the range of applications available to the environmental industry has increased and now includes air, soil, personal and workplace monitoring, as well as the analysis of contaminated groundwater.
Gerry Stutchbury, Gradko's technical manager, is very pleased with the company's purchase of the Camspec M550 instrument, saying: "When we needed an additional spectrophotometer, the reliability of the Camspec M302 over eight years of constant use played a major part in our purchase decision.
"The M550 was our first choice and now, some six months after it was installed, there is absolutely no doubt that we selected the right instrument."
