Grant Instruments has introduced a heavy duty microprocessor controlled 3-in-1 multi-functional orbital platform shaker, for use in biotech, biopharmaceutical and academic research laboratories
The latest addition to the Grant-bio product range, the PSU-20 platform shaker combines three mixing functions - orbital motion, reciprocation and vibration - into one easy to use benchtop unit.
Following on the success of the smaller PS-M3D system, the first platform shaker to offer the three programmable shaking modes, the PSU-20's mixing functions are fully programmable and can be set for continuous or timed operation (one minute to 96 hours) to achieve optimum mixing either in a single mode or in any different combination of the three functions.
The Grant-bio PSU-20 provides unparalleled flexibility as it is available with a range of interchangeable platforms to accommodate different sized flasks, beakers, Petri dishes and other laboratory vessels.
One available option is a high-capacity four level 'hotel' format platform (480x380mm) which maximises use of bench or floor space.
"The PSU-20 is a highly-flexible and competitively-priced multi-functional, multi-platform shaker which enables optimisation of shaking for a wide variety of applications, increasing the yield and improving reproducibility," says Rob Thorburn, commercial manager for scientific products at Grant.
"Its versatility means that it's ideal for multi-user laboratories, particularly for micro and molecular biologists working with microbiological fermentations in warm rooms, multiple gel destaining and membrane processing".
The Grant-bio PSU-20 benchtop unit measures 140x485x520mm, features a loading capacity of 15kg, a two-line 16 character LCD display and a powerful, reliable and exceptionally quiet motor.
As with all of the Grant-bio range of life science products, the PSU-20 is robust and reliable and comes with a two-year warranty.
