Thermo Fisher Scientific's Thermo-Start PCR reagents are now available with Reddymix buffer for easier, error-free set-up and improved reproducibility of reactions.
The Reddymix buffer contains an inert red dye that enhances the contrast between the reagents and the plastic vessel to allow accurate pipetting to be verified at a glance.
This ensures each reaction contains the correct volume and enhances the reproducibility of experiments.
The red dye and precipitant contained within the Reddymix buffer also allow the final PCR product to be loaded directly onto agarose gel, reducing post-PCR handling steps and saving valuable time.
Thermo Scientific Thermo-Start Taq DNA Polymerase, Thermo-Start PCR Kits and Thermo-Start Master Mixes, now available with or without Reddymix, have been developed specifically for hot-start PCR applications.
The covalently modified enzyme, unlike antibody-mediated enzymes, remains inactive until it has been heated to 95C for a full 15 minutes, preventing non-specific amplification during reaction set-up and while the PCR reaction heats up.
In addition to general PCR, Thermo-Start reagents are ideal for amplifying complex genomic or cDNA templates and for low copy-number targets, such as single-cell PCR.
The reagents are also available with a high-performance buffer for sensitive and specific amplification of challenging targets, such as complex and GC-rich templates.
