The Syrris Orbit Parallel Reaction Station is a high-performance, low-cost parallel synthesis system for research-and-development chemistry.
The Orbit, available from John Morris Scientific, fits on an Atlas hotplate, Atlas hot/coldplate or a regular hotplate with magnetic stirring.
The reaction tubes may be heated to 280C with reflux, or cooled to - 40C.
The Orbit is available in two sizes.
The Orbit 6 can hold six tubes (24mm O, 45ml) and the Orbit 12 can hold 12 tubes (13mm O, 10ml) The Orbit consists of two parts and has a 'twist-and-click' lid.
When the Orbit lid is closed, it will immediately introduce any desired (inert) atmosphere to all reaction tubes.
When the lid is removed, the septa sealing each reaction tube automatically re-seals and the tubes can be safely transported with any risk of exposure to air/moisture vapour.
The built-in reaction tube septa also enables the introduction of reagents under inert conditions.
The Orbit base is called the Refux unit.
The reaction tubes can be lifted in and out of the Reflux unit.
This enables the reaction tubes to be freely transported as one unit while the cooling/heating circulator line and reagent/inert gas in-let line remain connected to the Reflux unit.
