Cleaver Scientific (CSL) has developed a range of over 120 acrylic radiation safety products, providing optimum protection for laboratory personnel working with beta- or gamma-emitting compounds.
The range includes shields, boxes, racks, waste bins, spillage trays and cabinets.
CSL offers custom-built shields and boxes, manufactured in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit most applications and budgets.
The storage boxes are ideal for waste material and samples.
Interchangeable inserts hold various sizes of tubes, such as micro-centrifuge and centrifuge tubes, scintillation vials, universals, cryotubes and falcon tubes.
Drawstring heavy-duty waste bags are also available.
Free-standing benchtop bins with hinged lids and anti-slip feet are ideal for short-term storage of radioactive materials.
In addition to the standard 10mm-thick beta protection and 12mm-thick lead-impregnated gamma protection shielding, CSL offers 35mm-thick lead-impregnated shielding, which provides gamma attenuation equivalent to 1.5mm-thick lead.
Also available is 70mm-thick shielding that offers gamma attenuation equivalent to 3mm-thick lead.
The key features of these protection products are: clear optical construction for unobstructed view; a choice of angle to suit location; the availability of most shields in small and large sizes; large flat-base models for under-bench protection, and curved-base models compatible with safety spill trays; boxes and bins with hinged lids in a variety of designs and sizes.
Cleaver Scientific can also provide a Duoshield, specifically for applications that require protection from both beta and gamma emissions.
