A universal reactor controller (URC) for Autoclave Engineers's reactor systems has been launched in the UK by Merrow Scientific.
The URC can be specified to provide temperature, pressure and mixer speed control for most of Autoclave's stirred and non-stirred laboratory reactors.
Temperature control provides closed-loop PID control for vessel heating systems.
Pressure indication is provided, with an optional on/off valve or analogue control for inlet and outlet.
Closed-loop DC motor control of agitator speed provides a PID controller to regulate the DC motor drive, resulting in a more constant agitation speed, independent of changes in viscosity or load.
A closed-loop external signal provides a PID controller to regulate external AC or air motor drives.
Merrow also supplies Autoclave's more powerful Sentinel controllers, which each include a programmable logic controller for process control, monitoring and coordination in conjunction with a touch-screen display.
