The Cranfield Health regenerative medicine conference is set to be held on 22-23 April 2010, with Prof Lord Robert Winston heading the line-up of science professionals and academic speakers.
The conference, entitled 'Repairing the Body', will discuss a range of topics from possible treatment for viral infections to mending the spinal cord through the emerging fields of translational medicine - how research is translated from the laboratory into the clinic - and regenerative medicine.
Translating medical research from the bench to the hospital bedside brings technological, ethical and regulatory hurdles that must be overcome.
The conference will discuss this, alongside the gap between research and industry.
Prof Winston, professor of science and society and emeritus professor of fertility at Imperial College, London, will aim to challenge the translational medicine community.
The one-and-a-half day event is suitable for biomedical scientists, pharmaceutical researchers, academics and anyone with an interest in this field.
