Bioclad, a PVC wall cladding system containing Biocote silver ion antimicrobial technology, is now available for installation in laboratories and research areas.
The cladding has been developed by Advanced Hygienic Contracting in partnership with Biocote.
Bioclad cladding incorporates silver ions, impregnated into the PVC panels during manufacture, forming a permanently active surface that is said to inhibit the growth of a range of bacteria and moulds, including MRSA, E.coli, campylobacter and pseudomonas by up to 99.99 per cent.
Biocote protected products have been tested at the Heart of England Foundation Trust, with the results published in the 'Journal of Infection Prevention', which concluded that bacterial contamination could be reduced by 95.8 per cent, complementing hygiene practices.
Biocote protection is said to be a safe, natural antimicrobial technology that eliminates the need for aggressive cleaning fluids.
