MS Noise offers a range of vacuum pump enclosures designed to reduce vacuum pump noise in the laboratory by up to 12dB.
Vacuum pumps (rotary, scroll) are typically required to maintain a vacuum on many laboratory devices, including mass spectrometers and scanning electron microscopes.
MS Noise offers a range of enclosures that fit virtually all vacuum pumps, and it will showcase these and more at Pittcon 2010 in Orlando, Florida, on 1-4 March.
The company's vacuum pumps consist of two main parts: a base and a cover.
Installation is said to be achieved easily, without tools or disconnecting the vacuum pump.
There is also convenient access for system checks and maintenance.
Some models have a side window to check oil levels, and a side trapdoor for access to the screw ballast.
Enclosures are ventilated by fans, with total air flow more than 200m3/h.
The fans have long-lasting ball-bearing mounts, which are said to guarantee quiet operation, and an over-temperature buzzer alarm is available with battery back-up.
Enclosures are built for installation on the floor or below benches, saving laboratory space, and can also accommodate mist filters.
An optional oil pan made of stainless steel is available.
This oil pan is equipped with four vibration-absorbing castor wheels.
Pump oil can be drained without having to dismantle the enclosure.
