SP Scientific will hold a Lyolearn webinar on 20 April 2010 focusing on troubleshooting problematic freeze-drying cycles and formulations.
According to the company, it is not unusual for lyophilised products to fail during manufacturing at the commercial level as a result of either poorly designed lyophilisation cycles or poorly designed formulations.
By understanding the thermal characteristics of the formulated product, it is possible to specifically identify the problem and then troubleshoot and correct the issue with either the formation or the lyophilisation cycle itself.
Chaired by Dr Jeff Schwegmann, chief executive officer of AB Biotechnologies, the webinar will cover the physical properties of materials, case studies of failed products and determining a plan of action for fixing the problems to prevent future failures.
SP Scientific's programme of free educational webinars devoted to freeze-drying topics follows a 30-minute format for the presentations with a question-and-answer session immediately afterwards.
