Beckair is offering the AK3200 Ionising Air Knife, which helps to remove static in medical industrial applications such as thermoforming plastic trays and X-ray film processing.
The AK3200 Ionising Air Knife is a static eliminator that prevents the dangers and costly problems associated with static such as spark explosions, fires, property damage, product defects and injury to workers. A medical application such as thermoforming plastic trays usually creates a huge spike of static as the layers peel away from the Master Roll.
The AK3200 can be used to reduce the static levels by delivering ionised air at the separation point.
This can be done up to 10ft away.
X-ray film processing also generates a surge of static resulting in constant sparks forming when the charges from moving the film increase.
Consequently, many little specks will be visible in the film, rendering it useless for medical purposes.
To avoid this costly problem, the AK3200 can be used to blow ionised air onto the film during processing.
Other medical uses the AK3200 is suitable for include cleanroom applications such as cleanbench hood, pouch and sachet filling and bowl feeders.
It is also useful for eliminating static on medical blankets, plastic sheet stock and several others.
The AK3200 Ionising Air Knife can be easily mounted onto existing installations and can be supplied separately or as part of a system.
