Biotek's Synergy 2 Alpha microplate reader for low- to medium-throughput laboratories is suitable for use in life-science research and in drug-discovery processes.
Part of the Synergy microplate reader range, Synergy 2 Alpha comes preconfigured with the Alpha filter set, mirrors, software and optical modules to read all Alpha assays and is upgradable with additional detection modes as the laboratory's needs change.
According to Xavier Amouretti, product manager at Biotek, the lower price point of the Synergy 2 Alpha makes it easier for life-science research laboratories to adopt Alphascreen, Alphalisa and Surefire assay technologies.
In addition to Alpha assay specificity, the Synergy 2 Alpha single-mode microplate reader is integrated with the Gen5 data analysis software for advanced reader control, data analysis, graphing and reporting features.
An informational Alpha assay CD is also included and contains Alpha-based application notes, Gen5 sample data files and pre-programmed Gen5 sample protocols.
Synergy 2 Alpha is modular and can be upgraded to any Synergy 2 multi-mode reader configuration, including absorbance, fluorescence, luminescence, TRF or FP detection modes and injection.
Biotek instrumentation is used to aid in the advancement of life-science research, to facilitate the drug-discovery process and to enable the cost-effective quantification of disease-relevant molecules in the clinic.
