Porvair Filtration Group has announced that it has been awarded a further extension to its existing contract with Reliance Industries.
In a second extension to the contract for gasification filtration, Reliance Industries has ordered further filtration modules, increasing the scope of the project by a quarter.
India’s largest private sector enterprise, Reliance Industries Limited selected Porvair Filtration Group to design and build char filtration systems for the gasification plant at Jamnagar, as part of the J3 expansion project.
Reliance’s Jamnagar site is one of the largest oil refining complexes in the world, with an aggregate refining capacity of 1.3 million barrels of oil per day.
The completed gasification facility at Jamnagar will be the largest in the world and will process petroleum coke and coal into synthesis gas using E-Gas technology licensed from Lummus Technology.
Managing director of Porvair Filtration Group, Tom Liddell said: “Elements of the engineering will be similar to the work we are currently doing for POSCO in South Korea, but the initial Jamnagar installation will be several times larger.”
