The SediGraph III Plus Particle Size Analyzer from Micromeritics is built on the proven technology of previous models to produce an improved instrument that provides highly accurate and reproducible particle size information quickly and reliably.
The instrument can perform at peak level, not just in a protected laboratory, but also in a rugged production setting.
The SediGraph is ideal for a whole range of applications including:
- ceramics
- metal powders
- catalysts
- Geological and soil science
- cosmetics
- pigments
- construction materials
- minerals and inorganic chemicals
- abrasives
Using the sedimentation method, particle mass is measured directly by X-ray absorption. By the application of Stokes Law, the rate at which particles fall under gravity through a liquid of known properties, the SediGraph determines equivalent spherical diameter of particles across a range of 0.1 to 300 micrometers. The instrument gives you complete particle accountability ensuring all introduced sample is accounted for, even with fractions below 0.1 or above 300 micrometers.
Because the sedimentation cell is scanned from bottom to top, fast-settling particles can accurately be inventoried and the time required to resolve the separation of fine particles can be minimized. Features include a high-precision x-ray tube with a lifetime warranty (seven years), real-time display, temperature-controlled analyses, and a choice of multiple analysis speeds. A simplified pumping system for easy maintenance, low noise level, and computer-controlled mixing chamber temperature for improved repeatability and reproducibility are all standard.
The versatile reporting system comes with a wide range of custom data presentation options, including particle settling velocity and grain size in Phi units. Data reporting features include statistical process control reports, plot overlays for a visual comparison of results from different analyses, and comparison plots that provide graphical displays of the mathematical difference between data sets. Multiple analyzer control allows two SediGraph III’s to be operated from a single computer.
The SediGraph III Plus combines the proven SediGraph analytical technique with advanced instrumentation features to provide a particle size instrument that delivers superior repeatability, accuracy, and reproducibility.
