Adam Equipment has launched a new range of sophisticated, high precision analytical balances with all the features you would expect to find in models that are much more expensive.
The AEA Series of high precision balances have 0.01mg readability and are aimed at pharmaceutical, biotechnology and similar research laboratories where accuracy and ease of use are critical.
The same technology is used in the new AEP Series of compact, top loading balances which have numerous applications not only in laboratories but in the electronics industry, dispensing pharmacies and other areas where precision weighing and parts counting are needed.
An easy to use key pad gives access to a wide range of operating modes, including a choice of weighing units, statistical information, check weighing, parts counting using a sample or preset weight, filling against a bar graph display, an animal weighing noise filter and density determination with an optional density determination kit.
The features can be individually enabled or disabled, allowing the working menu to be customised to meet individual user requirements.
The large, clear LCD display guides the user through the set up and operating procedures and a bar graph shows, at a glance, how much of the balance's weighing capacity has been used.
Whilst the balance is truly a stand-alone unit, its compact size means that text inputs are most easily handled by an external keyboard, and there is a DIN socket to take a standard PC keyboard.
The balance will print out full GLP documentation, in the users' selected format, either directly to a printer or, via the RS232 port, as an output file to a PC.
Software is available to interface with standard applications like Excel, so that data can be easily imported into reports.
The balances can be controlled remotely from a PC, which can also store the customised menu set up, or from an optional remote keypad special applications.
An important feature is the internal calibration procedure.
Pressing a button on the key pad starts a servo motor, which automatically places an internal standard weight, carries out the calibration procedure and prints a validation document.
There is an option of automatic initiation of calibration in case of major ambient temperature variations and add to all this a capability for alternative menu languages. With additional balances on a professional level it is obvious why Adam Equipment is increasingly seen as the affordable alternative in the laboratory weighing market place.
