The fight against the spread of infection within our healthcare and catering establishments is being helped by the growing number of partnerships for BioCote hygienic solutions
Cross contamination of harmful pathogens and disease carrying organisms can lead to illness and even death, and conscientious suppliers to susceptible markets can now take steps to help break the pernicious spread of infection, which can prove to be devastating to patients and organisations alike.
Manufacturers of proprietary equipment used in the healthcare and catering sectors can now make available products which provide a full 24/7 hygienic surface protection which inhibits the growth of harmful micro-organisms.
The products can be many and various, ranging from static fixtures and fittings within a building as well as general equipment and accessories.
A BioCote partnership enables leading equipment manufacturers to supply their unique products to hospitals and other areas of potential risk, including laboratories, pharmaceutical plants, food production and preparation units together with residential care centres and a wide range of hospitality venues and events.

The BioCote portfolio of patented anti-microbial surface treatments can be applied to a range of substrate materials including metal, wood, ceramics and even fabrics.
One treatment provides a hard-wearing powder-coated finish which is both durable and easy to clean.
Colour printing of fabrics can similarly be used to confer the protective properties, which can withstand conventional cleaning processes. A gel or flo coating treatment is also available for GRP sheets or moulded products, ideal for washroom or shower installations to inhibit unsightly or potentially harmful mould growth.
Moulded or extruded plastic products can also be provided with surface protection by the incorporation of BioCote additives into their material formulations.
BioCote treatments not only provide effective long term protection against disease causing bacteria, but also virtually eliminate the possibility of generating further resistant strains of dangerous organisms.
These positive factors can provide an important element of HACCP due diligence and health and safety procedures in the continuing battle against HAI and similar problems.
