BioCote, a specialist in hygienic surface treatments, will be exhibiting at Medica, Europe's largest medical exhibition, in Dusseldorf 24-27 November 2004
BioCote has technology partnership agreements with companies throughout Europe which supply products for use in the clinical, medical and general healthcare markets.
It says enquiries would be welcomed from other manufacturers worldwide, who could benefit from the properties that BioCote advanced hygienic surface treatments can uniquely confer to their products.
BioCote treatments can be incorporated into metal, wood, ceramics and plastics as well as fabric materials.
Once treated, product surfaces benefit from a long term antimicrobial hygienic protection which is continuously active, 24 hours a day, every day.
The protection is 99.9% effective against the proliferation of harmful bacteria, by virtually eliminating the potential for surface growth and subsequent cross-contamination spread through multiple personal contacts.
A silver based biocide incorporated in the treatments provides a constant active defence against even the most virulent bacteria, including the methicillin resistant MRSA superbug.
When combined with good hygiene practices, BioCote provides the highest level of preventive surface treatment in the fight against disease and infection, says the company.
The BioCote portfolio includes a highly durable powder coated finish which can be applied to metal, wood and ceramic substrates, together with both gel-coat and flo-coat finishes for composite moulding techniques.
Polymer ingredients are available for plastic injection moulded products, together with printing for fabrics.
Technology partnerships exist in the UK for a range of products, providing them with a unique marketing advantage not available to other manufacturers of similar products: such products involved with the hospital, healthcare and laboratory markets.
