The Beckman Coulter aperture-based counting and sizing instrument, the Z series instrument includes three models, the Z1 single threshold, the Z1 dual threshold, and the Z2 dual threshold.
The Z series is a mercury-free analyser, which counts and sizes thousands of cells reproducibly and accurately compared to the manual method using a hemacytometer.
An optional Windows-based AccuComp software package for the Z2 allows the ability to download the information directly from the analyser to a PC enabling the user to present data in a clearer and more concise way.
For users with multiple instruments, overlay features and trending capabilities enable comparisons between cell types.
Also new to the market is the Zpak reagent kit that consists of two disposable containers, one for filling the instrument and dispensing diluent to beakers for sample suspension, and the other for waste.
When empty, the user simply disposes of the entire Zpak.
This gives the simplicity of a single, compact reagent kit saving bench space and providing safety in handling sample waste.
