Digital CCD camera from BFi Optilas provides higher sensitivity than conventional CCD devices, making it suitable for fluorescence microscopy and other low-light applications
BFi Optilas announces the availability of the new Retiga 1350 EX, a super high-sensitivity, low-noise, cooled, high-resolution digital CCD camera from QImaging, a leading manufacturer of high performance digital cameras.
The Retiga 1350 EX is based on the latest advances in CCD technology providing higher sensitivity than conventional CCD cameras.
This new camera addresses applications that require especially high-sensitivity such as fluorescence microscopy, and other low-light applications.
The improved sensitivity extends into the near infrared making the Retiga 1350 EX the most versatile camera in its class.
The Retiga 1350 EX is built around a scientific grade sensor with 1.45 million pixels with a resolution and pixel size that is ideally matched to the resolution of optical microscopes.
Features include peltier cooling, 1392 x 1040 resolution, advanced binning and ROI functions, high speed frame rates, external triggering. As with all QImaging cameras, the FireWire (IEEE-1394) interface provides easy plug-and-play installation, and the Retiga 1350 EX can be operated from a laptop.
The camera is very compact and will fit on practically any microscope that has a C-mount interface.
The Retiga 1350 EX is a software-driven camera that allows you to set camera parameters 'on the fly' and ensure that the captured image is the same as the preview image. The QCapture image capture program and QCam software development kit is shipped with the Retiga 1350 EX.
