BioInformatics has announced three senior appointments to significantly expand its range of services to top executives in the biotechnology, medical device, and pharmaceutical industries
"We see these three new hires as key to our continued growth", says Bill Kelly, president of the research and consulting firm.
"Their experience and qualifications will enable us to more closely integrate our unique survey capabilities with fact-based consulting entry planning and marketing strategy".
Interpreting information, placing it into context, and then making specific recommendations are an increasingly important value-added service for market research firms.
"Our clients in the life science industry are demanding more than just raw data to support their business decisions for their corporate strategies", says Kelly. "What makes us different is our ability to quickly make sound recommendations based on broad-based survey results collected with unprecedented speed".
Jim Brady was named the firm's senior science analyst.
Brady supports clients with his in-depth knowledge of modern biological laboratory techniques.
His areas of expertise include cellular and molecular biology, genomics, gene therapy and virology.
He has previously held research positions at the (US) National Institutes of Health, MetaMorphix, and Genetic Therapy.
He received his PhD from Indiana University and a BS in biology from the College of William and Mary.
Karen Gliwa has been named senior business analyst.
Gliwa is an experienced market research specialist whose previous positions at the QRC Division of Macro International and Hickman-Brown Research prepared her to design market research that supports real-world business situations.
Gliwa holds an MBA from the Yale University School of Management and a BA from Northwestern University.
Matthew Scherer was also named senior business analyst and brings a unique perspective to client assignments.
Scherer combines market analysis skills with hands-on laboratory experience.
He has held both business and scientific positions at Gene Logic, Claris Technologies and Schwarz Pharma.
He received his MBA from Georgetown University and a BS in molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin. "These three talented individuals perfectly complement our full-time staff of experienced scientists, business analysts and market research experts," says Robin Rothrock, the company's director of market research services.
"Life science executives need to make decisions quickly which means there's no time for a learning curve.
The analytical skills of our team combined with our web-based survey methodology and instant access to the world's largest online panel of scientific and medical customers give us capabilities and responsiveness unmatched by any other firm".
