Frost and Sullivan has selected the Bruker Daltonics for its 2003 product innovation award for the life sciences mass spectrometry market.
Frost and Sullivan research analyst Annabel Entress explained: "Our product innovation award is presented each year to the company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within their industry.
"The recipient company has shown innovation by launching a broad line of emerging products and technologies.
"To choose a recipient for this award, our analyst team tracks all new product launches, R and D spending, products in development, and new product features and modifications.
"The companies were then ranked by their number of new product launches and new products in development." Frost and Sullivan research manager Sohail Sheikh added: "The recipient of this award must have excelled based on one or more of the following criteria: significance of new products in their industry and their competitive advantage; product innovation in terms of unique or revolutionary technology and the product acceptance in the market place; new product value-added services produced to customers; and the number of competitors with similar products." Frost and Sullivan president Krishna Srinivasan stated: "Our award for product development and differentiation goes to Bruker Daltonics.
"Bruker can be considered the life science mass spectrometry specialist.
"It is one of the few competitors to pursue development and actual innovation by remaining committed to R and D rather than add-on technologies to new instruments.
"Although it is widely regarded that development in mass spectrometry instrumentation is very costly and not always fruitful, Bruker has consistently invested and delivered the product innovations the industry needs to develop and push the market further.
"Collectively, these factors warrant Bruker Daltonics's earning Frost and Sullivan's 2003 product innovation award for the life sciences mass spectrometry market".
"Our Bruker Daltonics team is very appreciative of this award," commented Frank Laukien, president and CEO of Bruker BioSciences.
"Receiving a Frost and Sullivan award again this year is also a great recognition for our industrial and academic R and D collaboration partners."
