Use living cells in automated assays, with integrated automation and software to perform complex assays before and after the addition of compounds or reagents
Cellomics has announced the launch of the KineticScan HCS reader, a system optimised for studying the dynamics of living cells.
The KineticScan HCS reader includes validated biological applications, advanced control software, an integrated liquid handling system, a fast and continuous laser auto-focus device and an environmentally controlled chamber.
These features not only enable the use of living cells in automated assays, but also provide the integrated automation and software to perform complex assays involving measurements of cellular events before and after the addition of compounds or reagents.
Like the Cellomics ArrayScan HCS reader, the KineticScan HCS reader also enables the measurement of biological processes within numerous individual cells within a population, cellular processes that are routinely missed when analysing aggregate cell population responses. Cellomics says its aim is to provide researchers with innovative tools that reduce operator interaction and increase productivity by automatically executing complex protocols for cell analyses and now, with the KineticScan HCS reader, sample preparation.
The KineticScan HCS reader is said to be the only automated HCS instrument that allows researchers to kinetically profile populations of individual cells, making it an invaluable tool in assay development, target validation, lead optimisation, and mechanistic investigations in drug discovery.
