Database for high content screening integrates with content addressed storage system to provide platform for the management, storage, analysis, and archiving of cellular image data
Cellomics has completed the technical integration of Cellomics Store, its enterprise level database for high content screening (HCS), with EMC's Centera Compliance Edition content addressed storage solution (CAS).
Centera Compliance Edition represents an entirely new software-driven storage architecture specifically designed to address the unique information storage requirements of fixed content required by solutions such as the Cellomics Store solution.
The integration of Cellomics Store with the EMC Centera CAS storage solution provides what the companies describe as a best-in-class software and hardware platform for the management, storage, analysis, and archiving of cellular image data.
End-users can create, manage, and analyse high content screening experiments, cellular image data, and discover relationships for potential targets, lead compounds, and genes. Images which are the 'raw' data of HCS are critical content assets that can now be secured with the EMC Centera providing a trusted, scalable, and cost-effective content store. Centera Compliance Edition protects intellectual property and discovery through content authenticity making it tamper-proof down to the individual image level.
Commenting on the integration, Terry Dunlay, VP of informatics products at Cellomics, stated: "The extension of our Store product with EMC's Centera system will provide our customers with complete flexibility for management of HCS and image data, while enabling regulatory compliance.
"Furthermore, working with EMC is an important part of our strategy for expanding HCS informatics.
"Many of our customers request a turnkey solution for their HSC data management, so we worked closely with EMC, and have delivered a solution that our customers can quickly deploy".
EMC's Roy Sanford, VP of content addressed storage, commenting on the integration said: "With the integration of the Cellomics Store with Centera Compliance Edition, life sciences companies can set hardened retention periods on electronic records further enabling compliance with regulations including the GxPs and 21 CFR Part 11.
"We look forward to bringing our solutions to life science customers to further accelerate the drug discovery process with Cellomics as the first dedicated high content screening solution (HCS) with Centera."
