Unique hydrophobic, oleophobic, and high filtration efficiency properties of e-PTFE membranes have led to a wide range of potential medical applications
Donaldson Membranes announces the introduction of new microporous e-PTFE membranes to meet the demanding requirements of the medical market.
The unique hydrophobic, oleophobic and high filtration efficiency properties of Donaldson's Tetratex e-PTFE membranes have led to a wide range of potential medical applications, including vent caps, drainage bags, IV administration sets, medical device enclosures, ostomy bags, packaging vents, spike vents, and urine bags.
Tetratex e-PTFE membranes provide important characteristics for the medical market: chemical inertness and resistance, non-shedding, minimal extractables, a wide operating temperature range, proven bacterial challenge, and toxicity tested to USP 23, Class VI. Products offered by Donaldson Membranes include unsupported Tetratex films, or Tetratex films thermobonded or adhesive-laminated to a wide variety of substrates.
These products are specially engineered for applications in filtration, venting, and contamination control.
