GRI LabCare division now offers independent dynamic thermal performance and validation of all commercially available thermal cyclers using the MTAS validation system
Thermal data is collected from the cycler and compared against the manufactures specifications to identify if the unit is performing within the specified criteria.
Such validation services are essential as many biotech research and diagnostic procedures rely on accurate thermal performance.
GRI has exclusive UK access to the unique, world leading thermal performance and validation system, MTAS.
Produced by Genotronics in the Netherlands, the MTAS system can independently test and validate all commercially available thermal cyclers. MTAS uses 18 independent channels positioned across the cycler's sample block, to perform either static or dynamic testing of thermal performance.
Thermal cycling and other temperature related amplification techniques are recognised as standard technology in both biotech research and diagnostic applications.
The ability to validate vital equipment used in these applications is now paramount to ensure accuracy and reliability of data from these thermal units.
The MTAS system can detect all forms of temperature over- or undershoot, unit inaccuracy and uniformity failures.
This acquired data can then be compared directly with the manufacturers specifications, at which point the operator can identify if the unit is performing as it should.
A range of performance tests, silver, gold, and platinum, are available from GRI LabCare with options for static or dynamic testing and various forms of data presentation.
The MTAS system can also test and validate temperature gradient features on units that have such facilities.
Once tested, a report is compiled and certificates of thermal performance of the tests are issued.
