Tinsley buys ASL H Tinsley acquires product range and staff of Automatic Systems Laboratories (ASL)
Precision electronic instrument manufacturer H Tinsley has acquired the product range and staff of Automatic Systems Laboratories (ASL) Ltd.
This acquisition joins two leading temperature and precision resistance measurement businesses, whose combined trading histories span over 125 years.
In fact both Tinsley and ASL instruments are sold worldwide and in many cases are used as the National Laboratory's primary standards to which all other measurement are compared.
Tinsley, founded in 1904, has a substantial ISO 9001 controlled manufacturing facility near Croydon, Surrey where the ASL products will also now be manufactured.
The ASL sales office remains in Milton Keynes and customers should see no changes to their contacts or levels of technical support.
A company spokesman said, "Customers will benefit from this larger resource through the reduction in manufacturing lead times and a greater product range.
In addition to this the sales agency and technical support networks will be strengthened to assist our worldwide customers.
Furthermore a new generation of precision temperature and resistance measuring instruments is already on the drawing board".
