Chemical informatics suite now integrates with ChemSketch, giving a greater choice of drawing tool for chemists using data management applications
IDBS has announced the integration of ACD/Labs's ChemSketch software for chemical structure drawing into IDBS's suite of cheminformatics applications including ActivityBase, the industry standard software for integrating biological and chemical drug discovery data.
ACD/Labs's ChemSketch has over 250,000 users worldwide and is one of the accepted standards in drawing packages.
This integration complements IDBS's existing support for chemical drawing packages, giving customers greater choice.
Earlier this month, IDBS reported strong growth in sales of chemistry applications during 2002.
Andrew Lemon, chemistry product manager, commented: "IDBS software is proving highly effective for chemists in drug discovery who need a modern, integrated chemical data management solution backed by a high-quality support and services package." He continued: "Following our successful development collaboration with ACD/Labs in which we introduced spectral data handling capabilities to ActivityBase, we are pleased to extend the interoperability between our products by offering our customers the opportunity to use ChemSketch as their drawing package within all IDBS applications."
