1.3 megapixel capacity and video at up to 30fps with the installation simplicity of IEEE1394 FireWire interface for this range of cameras
Kane Computing is now distributing the PL-A640 megapixel FireWire cameras in the UK.
The cameras offer high-resolution megapixel capacity with the convenience of FireWire (IEEE1394) to capture low latency video streams and digital still images.
These cameras capture real-time uncompressed video while maintaining uncompromising video and digital still-image quality.
The CMOS image sensor has a high resolution 1.3 megapixel array (1280x1024 pixels) and the cameras can capture upto 14fps at 1280x1024 pixels resolution and 30fps at 640x480 pixels resolution.
The FireWire digital interface simplifies installation, eliminating the need for framegrabbers.
The FireWire cable carries video data, camera commands and power.
The developers kit offers an extensive Application Program Interface (API).
This API is designed to simplify the most common tasks associated with configuring and controlling the CMOS image sensor.
Software developers can easily adapt existing programs or develop new imaging applications quickly.
The API provides control for gamma correction, signal gain, exposure time, imager subwindow size and position, image flip and mirror, and data size and data rate. Third party applications are supported via three industry standard software interfaces: DirectShow, Twain, and QuickTime. Applications include microscopy, medical and biometric systems, video conferencing, surveillance and security, webcasting and photo ID systems.
