Demonstrations of latest microscope systems and associated equipment for biological and materials research on one of the largest exhibition stands at the event
At Microscience 2004, Leica Microsystems will be demonstrating its very latest microscope systems and associated equipment for biological research and routine work, as well as research into industrial materials, on one of the largest exhibition stands at the event.
A key focus for Leica this year will be its live cell imaging technologies, with products on display such as its TCS SP2 AOBS filter-free laser scanning confocal microscope and the AS MDW workstation for living cell animations.
In addition, Leica application specialist Irmtraud Steinmetz will be participating in Microscience's special workshop programme.
Dr Steinmetz's presentation on 'Dynamic live cell imaging' will enable visitors to learn more about the many live cell techniques, such as Fret, Flip and Frap, that Leica systems enable.
Leica experts will be on hand to demonstrate and discuss a wide range of their technologies, including the newly launched DM6000 fully automated high-end research microscope. Seamlessly integrating a microscope, digital camera and image processing software, the latest in the DigitalMicroscope series provides the maximum of automation and er-gonomics, making work substantially easier for the user.
Other systems on display will include the Leica AS TP, which is said to be the world's first application solution to combine the functions of a fully automated inverted research microscope with those of electronic micromanipulators.
Another claimed world first on show will be the MZ16, the first ever stereomicroscope to enable the observation, analysis and photography of 3D objects to 1.19 micron without sample destruction.
In addition, the AS LMD for contamination-free cell dissection and easy operation, along with Leica's DFC range of digital cameras to suit all needs will be found on the Leica stand.
Dr Steinmetz will be presenting on the practical details of live cell imaging in workshop area 1 at the following times: Tuesday 6 July, 12-13.00 and 13.15-14.15; Wednesday 7 July, 13.15-14.15; Thursday 8 July, 13.15-14.15 and 14.15-13.15.
Leica is on stand F7 at MicroScience 2004.
