A unique design geometry and ultra-sensitive detectors give the TopCount NXT microplate luminescence and scintillation counter leading-edge performance
Unlike other luminometers, the TopCount NXT system uses small, low noise 0.5 inch photomultiplier tubes (PMT) with end window photocathodes.
These high gain PMTs are positioned directly above the microplate during measurement to ensure maximum signal detection and no optical crosstalk between wells.
Using the user programmable temperature control feature enables users to maintain the counting chamber at the temperature to ensure optimised detection.
Signal detection has been improved for both luminescence and radioisotopic count modes through Packard's patented time-resolved counting technique.
The unique reflective optics design eliminates optical crosstalk to permit leading edge accuracy and simultaneous measurement of up to 12 samples at a time.
Versatile in operation the TopCount NXT is capable of reading 2, 6 or 12 samples at a time and can accept 24-, 96- or 384-well microplates or microvials.
The TopCount NXT combines high sensitivity, high-throughput operation with high storage capacity to also deliver significant increases in laboratory productivity.
The system can accommodate data from over 30,000 96-well microplates in its built-in database automatically. Providing leading edge luminescence and scintillation detection the TopCount NXT is a highly valuable tool in pharmaceutical and academic research applications including cell expression, 3H thymidine uptake assays, receptor-binding assays and cytotoxity assays using 51Cr release and Scintillation Proximity Assays.
