Packard BioSciences has announced a new version of the Cyclone, a highly affordable storage phosphor system, optimised for performing gene array analysis
Now available with QuantArray analysis, the Cyclone Gene Array system provides a complete solution for researchers measuring gene arrays on nylon membranes using radiolabels.
Delivering affordability, without compromising performance, the compact system delivers as standard outstanding resolution, allowing separation of objects as close as 50 microns apart.
The Cyclone Gene Array system produces images in one tenth of the time of comparably priced traditional autoradiography film methods and outperforms all other competitive imaging systems in terms of better sensitivity, higher resolution and more capable software. Cyclone images can now be opened directly into QuantArray and measured using a wide range of powerful, yet easy-to-use features.
For researchers comparing the difference between a control and treated filter, the software makes it easy to locate the spots and compare the differences between the data of even highly complex images.
Other features include normalisation of images for different exposures, a range of quantitation methods and analysis of results using the Packard BioChip Technologies Gene Database.
