Products to be unveiled will boost speed and productivity in atomic spectroscopy, gas chromatography, thermal analysis and laboratory information management systems
PerkinElmer says it will showcase a series of recently introduced products on 8 March at the annual Pittsburgh Conference (Pittcon) in Chicago.
Among the products to be shown is the new Lambda family of instruments for molecular spectroscopy.
Lambda offers ultra-high spectroscopic performance with significantly improved productivity, reducing the time required for complex analysis in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, optics, glass, paint and coatings, textiles, polymers and electronics industries.
Other products to be unveiled will boost speed and productivity in atomic spectroscopy, gas chromatography, thermal analysis and laboratory information management systems.
PerkinElmer's booth will also showcase the Protof 2000 Maldi O-Tof mass spectrometer that features next-generation technology for the identification and characterisation of proteins.
The Protof 2000 is the foundation for PerkinElmer's high content proteomics suite of products, which is distinguished in the world of life sciences research by offering a complete range of instruments for identifying and characterising proteins as well as their functions.
High-speed, accurate analysis of proteins is considered essential for the research and development of powerful new drugs capable of combating a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions.
"Pittcon remains one of the leading venues for introducing our market-driven solutions, and a forum for gathering customer input, which stimulates our teams to develop powerful new products that meet their needs," said Peter Coggins, president of PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences.
"Our customers in the pharmaceutical, life sciences, chemical, materials, and food and beverage industries will benefit from our tools launched at Pittcon, as these products enhance their productivity and efficiency and accelerate their time to market for their new products".
PerkinElmer scientists and engineers will also present the results of company research at 12 technical sessions dealing with assays for drug discovery, accurate protein identification, water quality analysis and methods to enhance productivity in a variety of industrial laboratory applications.
The company will also showcase its recently introduced products, including: Labworks Enhanced Security laboratory information management system (Lims) software that schedules sample test requests and collects, controls, documents and disseminates information from lab instruments for decision making, with robust international language capability.
Spectrum Spotlight 350 FT-NIR (Fourier-transform near-infrared) imaging system rapidly provides pharmaceutical development organisations with information about micro-scale chemical variations for faster problem solving, shorter time-to-market for new formulations, and reduced rework costs.
HyperDSC, a breakthrough thermal analysis method for characterisation of materials such as plastics, only available on the PerkinElmer Diamond differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). It is said to deliver superb sensitivity and new insights into materials processes that cannot be obtained with conventional thermal analysis methods.
Clarus 500 gas chromatography system with new ultra clean, high-speed TurboMatrix sampling and TurboMass analytical software.
Elan high-speed, ultra-low-trace chemical analysis system recently selected by the US government for a national health monitoring program to be located in major cities throughout the country.
