Two-day courses aimed at production and quality assurance in the food industry will include use of optical and scanning electron microscopes and FTIR spectroscopy
Reading has announced three dates for a new two-day course in microscopy.
Each course will give participants the practical and theoretical skills required to identify a wide range of foreign bodies using a minimum of equipment and consumables.
There is a very large emphasis on practical work, supported by theory, and the final day includes a practical situations test.
The course is appropriate for managers and staff working within the production and quality assurance functions of any food business.
The course includes use of light microscopes and a demonstration of specialised equipment such as a scanning electron microscope and fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy.
Attendance is limited to 12 people, and the following dates have been set: 23 and 24 April 2002, 18 and 19 June 2002, 15 and 16 October 2002.
