Value added system integrator agreement for 'mission critical knowledge management' and data archival in the life sciences market
Scientific Software announced at Pittcon that it has signed a Valued Added System Integrator (VASI) agreement with EMC to provide mission-critical knowledge management and data archival solutions to the life sciences market.
This agreement calls for the integration of Scientific Software's CyberLab 'knowledge engineering system' with EMC's Clariion and Symmetrix storage systems and software.
In addition, the companies announced that they would work to integrate future technologies that will provide life sciences customers with significantly enhanced information security and access.
"The synergy between the two companies creates a powerful opportunity," said Soheil Saadat, president and CEO of Scientific Software.
"EMC's market-leading storage technology combined with our CyberLab software will provide our customers a complete solution for knowledge management, data archival, and Part 11 compliance." Gregg Ambulos, EMC's vice president of global channels, said, "Information storage is a key technology enabler across the life sciences value chain - from drug discovery, to clinical trials, to product launch.
Scientific Software's expertise in life sciences market combined with EMC information storage and software will help customers improve research collaboration and accelerate the drug discovery pipeline." CyberLab is said to be the industry's first knowledge engineering system designed to capture and maintain all the electronic records across the enterprise.
Users can search, retrieve, and archive any type of an electronic record of any size.
Designed with US 21 CFR Part 11 in mind, CyberLab assists organisations to become compliant with this new regulation.
Built from the ground up using standard web technology, CyberLab is expandable from single user system to global multi-site implementations.
