Demonstration of latest image analysis system at IPOT shows 'outstanding' improvements in imaging of three-dimensional samples
Syncroscopy has launched its new Auto-Montage Version 4 image analysis system at IPOT 2002.
It says the many unique features of this software ensure users have maximum flexibility when working with three-dimensional samples and can create the best possible image of their sample.
Auto-Montage Version 4 system includes brand new, very high speed algorithms that control montaging methods designed for a range of three-dimensional imaging applications.
These methods capture many partially focused images, which are automatically analysed to produce an infinite depth of focus image and associated depth map.
Using the new time saving preview function, users can easily test a range of montaging methods and select the most suitable for their sample, guaranteeing the best result.
In addition, Auto-Montage Version 4 has a new Confidence Map image, which provides an indication of how the height information has been interpreted.
Areas of high contrast and areas with single, distinct focused layers are given a maximum confidence score.
The Confidence Map has proved to be extremely useful for determining how to enhance low detail areas and for height noise removal.
For validation purposes all measurements are now reported with their associated confidence values.
Syncroscopy also showed its SyncroCool 435 digital camera, for fluorescence and brightfield microscopy.
With its three 1360 x 1024 pixel supercooled CCD chip system, it can rapidly capture and display high frame rate, high resolution, full colour, live images without compromising on quality.
This saves time by making brightfield slide scanning and focusing as well as image download happen in an instant.
SyncroCOOL 435 is ideal for fluorescent applications because its sensitive, supercooled CCD chip ensures low background noise with long integration times, while still allowing users to detect faint samples.
Additionally, Syncroscopy launched its SyncroScan unique slide scanning and mapping system.
This embodies the recent advances in microscope automation technology by hugely improving the efficiency and ergonomics of routine specimen imaging and inspection.
