Fully modular monochromator-based microplate detection system offers a range of high-speed fluorescence techniques
Tecan (Europe) has announced the introduction of Safire2, a fully modular monochromator-based microplate detection system that offers a range of high-speed fluorescence techniques.
With high performance modules available for top and bottom fluorescence intensity measurements, fluorescence polarisation studies, multi-channel absorbance and luminescence measurements the flexible design of the Safire2 enables researchers to choose just the detection techniques they want today without compromising future upgradability.
Whether researchers wish to perform the latest biomolecular assays for primary or secondary screening, such as molecular interaction assays, kinase assays, protease assays or highly sensitive G-protein-coupled receptor assays, Safire2 has the options to fit the application requirements. Consecutive measurements in different fluorescent modes may be made with the shortest possible time interval between measurements.
Safire2 also saves time and costs by eliminating the need for cumbersome filter changes.
All wavelengths are easily accessible through a specially designed fast-scanning monochromator.
For high-throughput applications Safire2 is easily combined with a stacker module that allows rapid automated processing of up to 50 microplates.
Designed for seamless integration with Tecan's Freedom Evo series robotic liquid handling systems, users also have access to fully automated drug discovery platforms with all the benefits of Safire2's detection prowess.
Modern drug discovery demands speed, sensitivity and flexibility from detection technologies. Researchers must not only develop the right assays as fast as possible but also screen the widest possible range of compounds. By empowering assay development and high throughput screening through its innovative detection capabilities, Tecan says Safire2 fulfils these needs in one easy-to-use modular system.
