New analysis services specialising in the physical characterisation of fine particles will be launched along with particle characterisation products at Pittcon 2005
Micromeritics will be showcasing several products and its new Micromeritics Analytical Services at Pittcon 2005 (28 February - 4 March, Orlando, USA).
The new Elzone II 5390 particle size analyser utilises the electrical sensing zone method to size samples without regard to optical properties, densities, colours, and shapes.
The Elzone quickly and accurately determines the size, number, concentration, and mass of a wide variety of organic and inorganic materials, says the company.
Automated features include start-up, run, and shut-down routines, blockage detection and clearing, flushing/rinsing, and calibration.
It determines particle diameters from approximately 0.4 micrometers extending to nearly three orders of magnitude larger - a dynamic size range suitable for a wide variety of industrial, biological, and geological specimens.
A high level of accuracy and resolution, speed, ease-of-use, and compact size make the Elzone equally suitable for industry, quality control, and research and development laboratories.
Micromeritics also introduces Micromeritics Analytical Services (MAS) - a contract laboratory specialising in the physical characterisation of fine particles.
Characterisation services include particle size distribution, BET surface area, pore size/volume distribution, density, microscopy (optical, SEM, TEM), micropore volume, chemisorption, TPD/TPR, surface roughness, FTIR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy), method development, and much more.
The MAS is cGMP compliant and FDA registered.
Confirm software for the 21 CFR Part 11 environment is now offered with a Micromeritics suite of products that includes the Saturn DigiSizer 5200 high resolution laser particle size analyser, Asap 2020 accelerated surface area and porosimetry system, TriStar 3000 surface area and porosimetry analyser, the Gemini V series surface area analysers, and the Elzone II 5390 particle size analyser.
Combined with Micromeritics's IQ and OQ services, the company says the user can be assured that each system is validated for accuracy, reliability, consistent intended performance, and provides safeguards to protect the integrity of analysis records.
Additional Micromeritics instruments exhibited at Pittcon 2005 include the SediGraph III 5120 particle size analyser, AutoPore IV mercury porosimeter, AutoChem II 2920 catalyst characterisation system, and the AccuPyc 1330 pycnometer.
