Semi-mobile ducted cupboard goes to top of class

Up until now, practicals have been performed in either fixed ducted fume cupboards or carbon filtered systems.

Both types of cupboard have an important place in the classroom.

Ducted fume cupboards are viewed by many as the best method of controlling harmful substances - however their fixed position can be drawback.

Carbon filtered cupboards are suitable for light use and, being mobile, are easily moved around the classroom.

The Airone 1000DS's design incorporates the best features of both ducted and carbon filtered cupboards and combines them to achieve a fully ducted system which can be manoeuvred, away from the wall, into an open position within the laboratory.

Teachers, pupils and the classroom environment are protected from the effects of harmful substances because all of the fumes and irritants associated with practical science demonstrations are removed at their source and ducted away to be expelled to the atmosphere.

The added advantage of being able to move the cupboard around has obvious benefits.

When not in use it can be stored to the side of the room and when required wheeled out (lockable wheels) into an open position for demonstrations.

Being away from the wall and having 360deg clear safety glass ensures the whole class can group around the cupboard and clearly see what is happening.

The teacher can see and interact freely with pupils as the demonstration takes place.
