Scientists will now have the ability to use the extensive portfolio of bioapplication image analysis modules for both fixed end-point and live-cell kinetic analysis in an on-the-fly mode
Cellomics has announced the launch of an upgrade for its KineticScan HCS reader instrument platform.
Known for its robust imaging and complete informatics solution, the KineticScan HCS reader (KSR) enables complete live-cell, kinetic, quantitative imaging of cell-based assays for HCS.
With this upgrade, scientists will now have the ability to use Cellomics's extensive portfolio of bioapplication image analysis modules for both fixed end-point and live-cell kinetic analysis in an on-the-fly mode on the KSR.
In addition, the KSR includes a patented motility module which tracks live cells over an extended time course, plus reports features such as persistence, acceleration, and directionality on a well-by-well, or cell-by-cell basis.
Finally, Cellomics adds the ability for scientists to modify the fully-functional, integrated pipettor from a multi-channel to a single-channel configuration, enabling optimal flexibility in fluid handling that matches demanding assay needs.
These enhancements deliver increased productivity, reliability, and ease-of-use to the world's largest user base of HCS instrumentation, it says.
"Scientists now have the ability to calculate essential motility and kinetic calculations and then couple that with the power of the proven bioapplication modules we provide" said Scott Keefer, product manager for the KineticScan.
"These additions along with other recommendations that were implemented from our extensive and productive user base makes the KSR the most complete and powerful commercial imaging platform available".
"The performance increases afforded by this upgrade enables validation of more live-cell assays than ever before, including monitoring calcium transients, ion channels, membrane potential, and much, much more", added Jeffrey Haskins, VP of technology and product development.
Daniel Calvo, president and CEO of Cellomics, added: "this upgrade provides users of the KineticScan access to the entire portfolio of Cellomics tools, driving the live-cell HCS market further into the discovery of complex biological processes".
Calvo continued, "The KSR provides customers with the ultimate in high content analysis, allowing biologists to explore a myriad of biological mechanisms in real time automated fashion."
