"Having looked at a range of veterinary microscopes we decided upon the Nikon YS100 because of its optical performance, build quality and reliability, and value for money"
Senior veterinary nurse Lucy Pearsall has the taken up the challenge of setting up a veterinary unit at the West Midland Safari Park in Worcestershire, UK, and has chosen the Nikon YS100 microscope for a number of essential veterinary applications including bacteriology, parasitology, haematology, urinalysis, skin scrapes and worm egg counts.
"Among the park's principal attractions are breeding groups of white lions, white tigers, African hunting dogs, white rhino, giraffe and hippo.
"Given the size and complexity of the collection, establishing our own veterinary unit seemed a natural progression.
"Having looked at a range of veterinary microscopes we decided upon the Nikon YS100 because of its superior optical performance, high build quality and overall reliability, and combined with a three year warranty it also offered brilliant value for money", explained Pearsall.
Designed to meet the needs of users across medical, scientific and educational environments, the Nikon YS100 guarantees first class optical performance thanks to a combination of excellent overall optical design, chromatic aberration free lenses, a prism-type eyepiece tube and 6V-20W halogen light source, says Nikon.
