AstellBio’s Liquid Waste Autoclave 200 removes the needs for staff to manually load containers of liquid waste into autoclaves or chemically treat wastewater with disinfectants before disposal.
Disposing of biologically contaminated liquid waste can be a time-consuming process for those relying on chemical sterilisation. Not only is the sterilisation process itself lengthy, but it also demands extensive staff training to ensure compliance with proper protocols and safety procedures.
Named for the number of litres it can sterilise per hour, once connected to sinks, sluices, and other wastewater-producing devices, the Liquid Waste Autoclave 200 collects, sterilises, and disposes of liquid waste without requiring human interaction. Using the same thermal sterilisation process as a traditional autoclave, it guarantees complete sterilisation of liquid waste. And because the autoclave relies solely on heat for sterilisation, it eliminates the risk of soil or groundwater contamination.
From pathogens and biohazards associated with Containment Levels 1 to 3 / Bio Safety Levels 1 to 3, to genetically modified organisms, toxins, liquid animal waste, or combinations thereof, the Liquid Waste Autoclave 200 can sterilise a diverse range of liquid waste within a compact 1.5m² footprint.
Paul Birchmore, AstellBio’s Sales and Marketing Director, said: “We’ve already seen significant interest in the Liquid Waste Autoclave 200, even pre-launch. Clients working with genetically engineered organisms in the horticulture sector have expressed exceptional excitement. Our sister company, Astell, has been producing autoclaves for 140 years, and they’ve shared their expertise with AstellBio to create the Liquid Waste Autoclave 200. In my opinion, it’s a far superior way of handling liquid waste compared with even Astell’s excellent traditional autoclaves.”
