The new Type 6732 Whisper Valve combines low internal volume, rapid switching, and high repeatability for accurate fluid handling in life science and industrial applications.
Flow control specialist Bürkert has introduced the Type 6732 Whisper Valve, a compact media-separated dosing valve designed for applications requiring precise control of small volumes of liquids and gases.
The new 2/2-way solenoid valve combines minimal internal volume with fast switching times and high repeatability, helping laboratories and analytical systems achieve stable processes and reproducible results. Optimised flow geometry also enables effective flushing, an important consideration where small sample quantities and contamination control are critical.
Applications include PCR analysis, pipetting systems in bioanalytics, oligonucleotide synthesis and the packaging of sensitive products, as well as other life science and industrial processes requiring accurate dosing.
At the heart of the Type 6732 is a Lorentz actuator, which provides rapid and precise valve movement while offering improved repeatability compared with conventional actuator technologies. Bürkert's Whisper Valve technology is also designed to reduce power consumption, operating noise and heat transfer into the fluid being handled, making it suitable for point-of-care and point-of-use applications.
Measuring just 7 mm wide, the valve is well suited to compact analytical instruments and other space-constrained systems. A choice of materials provides broad chemical compatibility, while its vacuum-compatible construction extends its use to more demanding processes.
The valve also incorporates Bürkert's ValveInsight technology, which analyses the actuator's current profile to identify changes in switching behaviour without requiring additional sensors. This enables continuous monitoring and can help detect deviations at an early stage, supporting proactive maintenance and improved process reliability.
